Neil and Laura decided to establish thru-the-portal after finding very few gaming publications that were broad enough to meet a diverse interest, in a number of pretty niche areas - board games, card games and role playing.  We refer to these activities collectively as Social Games, and see them as a great alternative to the modern over abundance of digital entertainment.

Neil balances the gaming/ publishing hobby with his full time jobs, as a project manager and founder of MiFile.net.  Laura works in London in patent and trademark law - and sorry, she is not available to give advice!

We also have a keen young gamer in Mike, our 7 year old - and we often include his input in reviewing family games and games aimed at younger players.

We would also like to thank all the people who either directly, or indirectly, help in providing the articles that go into our magazine.  As we grow, we will add site features for our regular contributors.
