| Can you tell us what sort of social games you play? |
A: Oh, I play all sorts of games, and I’ve done so since I was about 9 years old. Most of my gaming history has been with traditional roleplaying games, but I also jumped into the CCG (collectible card game) craze pretty heavily, and I’m mostly into boardgames and indie RPG’s right now.
|
| What games do you own? Do you have any favourites? |
A: I’m up to just over 300 board and card games right now. I also own lots of older RPG systems and a budding collection of indie RPG’s now as well. My favourite boardgames are The Princes of Florence and Pandemic, and you can check out my entire Top 100 boardgames on my blog. As far as roleplaying goes, some of my favourites right now include Dread, Fiasco, Primetime Adventures, and A Penny for My Thoughts.
|
| When did you last play one of your games, with whom and what was the outcome? |
A: I have a weekly game night that I got started a few years ago, so I get to play boardgames very regularly. At the last one, I won The Princes of Florence, Saboteur, and Dominion, split a couple of games of Hive, and coached a group of mostly new players through a successful game of Pandemic.
|
| What do you do for a living, what pays the gaming bills? |
A: I’m a nurse educator at a local hospital here in Burlington, North Carolina. I teach things like CPR and advanced life support, as well as crisis intervention and orientation to our computer system.
|
| Anything else you would like to add? |
A: Games are a life-long passion for me. Whether I’m playing them, writing about them, or just reading some rules or organizing my collection, few things give me as much joy as do games. I hope that this comes across in my writing. You can also find more of my gaming life at my blog, www.gamerchris.com.
