Can you tell us what sort of social games you play?
I am a roleplayer, wargamer and boardgamer. I like to think that I enjoy each of these equally, but deep down I am a roleplayer!
|
What games do you own? Do you have any favourites?
Hundreds, honest. Of the roleplaying games I enjoy most, Mutants & Masterminds, Savage Worlds and World of Darkness are on the list, though I am very heavily into the “indie RPG scene” and the multitude of very cool games that are being created there. When talking wargames, Uncharted Seas, Warmachine, Battletech and Battlefield Evolution are popular with me and my friends. Boardgames are many and varied, though I have really been enjoying Pandemic, Small World and Thurn & Taxes.

When did you last play one of your games, with whom and what was the outcome?
We play games every Friday night, plus monthly boardgame meets and monthly club meets. Last Friday we played Small World where I made a horrible tactical decision that lost me the victory. We also played Pandemic with the On The Brink expansion and set all the parameters to the toughest we could and only just failed (for the want of one last action!).

What do you do for a living, what pays the gaming bills?
I am a teacher by day, but my game writing pays the gaming bills. I have written a variety of games, most are available for free, but a few items generate a tiny income that helps subsidise my gamer lifestyle!

I am the co-host of Australia’s best tabletop gaming podcast, Here Be Gamers! Everyone should listen to it. I command it.
