Welcome to thru-the-portal.com, a site that aims to promote social gaming activites to a wider audience, through this website, in partnership and via our free quarterly digital magazine.

We have decided to update our site to give us a better platform to promote social gaming to new gamers and also to allow us to provide updates, reviews and news between the quarterly magazine releases.

You will see that the new site includes a few changes, like:

We realise that it is difficult to get your product, service or event noticed in the huge web of the internet.  So, to help grow this community and support smaller publishers, bloggers, events, etc, we welcome you to submit a banner advert that we will include on our site for 1-month for free.

We will select one advert per month to include along with our paid adverts.

All adverts submitted must be less than 50kb in size and in one of the following formats:

Essen - more correctly "Internationale Spieltage SPIEL" - is an annual board gaming event that takes place in Germany, in the city of Essen.  To many board gamers this is their 'Mecca Event'.

Over 120,000 visitors descend on this event to see the newest board games, card games and other social gaming interests, such as RPGs.  The fair takes 4 days, from Thursday  21st October through to Sunday, the 24th October.
